Barbara is a Holistic Psychotherapist and Heart-Centered Hypnotherapist specializing in working with individuals and groups. She is known for a warm, relaxed and comfortable approach. She utilizes a variety of orientations and therapies according to the individual client’s needs and she is genuine, accepting, caring, and non-judgmental. She works with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem/self- empowerment, grief and loss, relationship/family concerns, as well as a client’s desire to create meaning and purpose in their life and in living a more fulfilled life. One area Barbara is particularly passionate about is helping adults overcome the effects of childhood trauma, as well as those who are working to let go of addictive behaviors. Barbara had a long-term goal to become a therapist and a helping professional and therefore when she was in her forties she left the corporate world and returned to school to get her Master of Social Work degree. She knows from personal experience that obstacles can be overcome and dreams can come true. She considers herself blessed to be able to work in a profession that she truly loves and feels passionate about. Barbara also notes that, “It is a privilege and an honor to be invited into my clients’ inner lives, and to stand beside them on their journey of healing, change, and self-actualization.” Barbara is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and an Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist (ACHT). Barbara graduated from the University of Washington School of Social Work with an emphasis in Mental Health. After graduation she spent over 11 years studying Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy at the prestigious Wellness Institute in Issaquah, Washington. |
